Capt Dale Dye
It would be extremely difficult to find a Veteran who has accomplished more in military or civilian life as Capt Dale Dye has.  After a 20 year and highly decorated career in the Marine Corps, first as enlisted, then retiring as a Captain, Dale felt that the way in which the public viewed the common "grunt", or combat soldier, was disrespectful and went to Hollywood to use the film and movie industry to change it.  His motivation was not money or celebrity, but a deep respect for the personnel he had served with as well as the entire Veterans commun-ity who served this great country.   He established his company "Warriors, Inc.", the pre-em- inent military and advisory service to the entertainment industry, and, through this com-pany,  became a technical advisor in many war-genre movies and began having parts in some of them.
Consequently, Capt Dye has worked with some of the most notable actors in Hollywood, including Oliver Stone, Michael J. Fox, Tom Berenger, Willem DaFoe, Johnny Depp, Tom Hanks,  Donald Sutherland and many, many others.  In addition to serving as Technical Advisor in movies, he has appeared in such movies as "Casualties of War" (the gray-haired Captain yelling at Erikkson), "Platoon", "Saving Private Ryan", "Forrest Gump", "Band of Brothers", "JFK', among others.  He has, recently, began work as a Director, himself, and has a movie project in progress now.
Capt Dye is, also, an accomplished author with such novels to his credit as "Run Between the Raindrops", "Platoon", "Outrage", "Duty and Dishonor" and his latest novel "Laos File".
Lastly, Capt Dye has served as a mentor to many, many persons who wish to hone their leadership skills, myself included.  I consider it an honor to team with Capt Dye and Warriors, Inc., who endorse AMVETS on their website, as well as an honor to have learned from him.  Capt Dye's contributions and sacrifices to our country will be felt and appreciated by Veterans for many years to come!
