AMVETS Post 2000
Dear Fellow Veterans,
On behalf of the Officers and members of AMVETS Post 2000,
I would like to welcome you to the AMVETS Post 2000 Website. I hope that this site will assist you in understanding the goals
of not only our post, but the AMVETS organization at the State and National levels as well. Please take the time to browse
throught the site to find what our organization has to offer to Veterans and the community.
The
Officers and members of Post 2000 are composed of Veterans and active duty personnel from all branches of military service both in
war, from World War ll to present day, peace-time, stateside and abroad who share a love for our country and a respect for the sacrifices
necessary to achieve the freedom and peace we enjoy today. We, also, believe that the American Flag is not just a banner, but
represents our deepest beliefs and our entire way of life.
AMVETS carries a long and proud tradition of service
to Veterans, their families and the community, such as assisting Veterans with such information as home loans, VA medical care, even
obtaining Veteran license plates and we urge Veterans to take advantage of as many services and benefits as they are eligible for.
We also place special emphasis on support of the Oregon Veterans Home located in The Dalles, Oregon.
As you
browse the site, please take note of the links to the different Veterans Service Organizations and the services they offer.
Also, note the youth programs we offer, hoping to inspire our young men and women to a greater sense of patriotism and a greater understanding
of and appreciation for the sacrifices our Veterans gave to secure a country of freedom and peace.
I hope
that you will call upon us to assist you with any Veterans benefit questions, concerns or needs that you may have. I would like
to thank all Veterans for your service to our country which helped make the United States the greatest country in the world!
